The scene is immediately opened with a static shot of an old telephone setting the era with the help of typical Art-Deco wall paper behind.This is helped by what seems to be a slight orange tint placed on the camera; Following this is a slow fade into the next shot of what seems to be the outer workings of an elevator, on decent through a single concrete opening. By then fading this into the initial piece of action depicting a man walking to his car. However the camera follows the book he is carrying over hid face, showing it's significance.
This is followed by a rising shot of the man walking to the car only to quickly cut to the inside of the window where we see bullets come through an blood splatter onto. this angle is used for narrative retardation shielding the killer from us. Over the whole of this light music is played to give it an almost reminiscent feeling.
Following this is a link back to the elevator to signify both that the work is done and possibly the accent of his soul. Following this is a smooth cut back to the corps where we see the book be picked up. and credits roll as the screen fades to black making a smooth transition between opening information and credits. Also a birds eye view is used this is to show the power difference between the victim and killer. By running this scene into the title credits it's possible to give away the content of the books for foreshadowing the rest of the film. This is also layered with a score book type credit set an running dialogue which gives a solid setting of the base plot.
